Gordie Howe's Elbow is my blog following the Detroit Red Wings. I've been a fan of the Detroit Red Wings ever since I started watching hockey when I was 8 years old. Growing up in Northern Ontario I had to spend a lot of my childhood justifying my support for the Wings (an American team!) to many Leafs and Habs fans. Now, well over a decade later my support for the Wings is as strong as ever.
I started this blog around Christmas in 2010 after finally getting to visit the Joe Louis Arena for my first Wings game and I have decided to give weekly predictions and recaps of Detroit's games and give analysis on any big moves made by the Club (be it free agent signings, trades, injuries etc). I have had a lot of fun writing this blog and it has made following the Red Wings much more exciting.
